I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
